1. In Total Solar Eclipse, the entire face of the sun is blocked by the moon. In Partial Solar eclipse, only part of the suns face is blocked.

2. Total Solar Eclipse is caused by the umbra. Partial Solar Eclipse is caused by the penumbra.

3. A total solar eclipse is visible from only a small part of the earth. A partial solar eclipse is seen over a larger area of the earth.
