Distinguish, differentiate, compare and explain what is the Difference between Discrete and Continuous Variable. Comparison and Differences.
Difference between Discrete and Continuous Variable
1. A variable which can take only certain values is called a discrete variable. A variable which can take any value in a particular limit is called continuous variable.
2. Discrete variable jumps from one value to another value, but it mull not consider the Intermediate value between two value, Thus the value of the variables can Increase in complete numbers. Continuous variable value increases in fractions but not in jumps.
3. Example of discrete variable: Number of students who opt for Commerce . Class 11, say 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50. Example of continuous variable: Height, weight and age of family members, in weight, say 50.5 kg 30 kg 42.8 kg md 18.6 kg.
