Distinguish, differentiate, compare and explain what is the main difference between Fertilisation and Germination in Science and Biology. Comparison and Differences.
Difference between Fertilisation and Germination
1. Fertilization is the fusion of male and female gametes. In Germination, the food reserves present in a seed are broken down and the embryo start to grow. During it, seeds convert into a seedling.
2. Fertilization occurs only after pollination when the pollen grain has germinated and sent the male gametes to the ovule. Germination begins when a seed starts to absorb water.
3. Fertilization occurs in plants and animals of yarns types. Germination occurs only in seed plants.
