Difference Between Scalar and Vector Quantities

1. Scalar quantities are completely specified by their magnitude only. Vector quantities are completely specified by their magnitude as well as direction.

2. Scalar quantities change by the change of their magnitude only. Vector quantities change by the change of either their magnitude or by direction or both.

3. Scalar quantities are added or subtracted by laws of ordinary algebra like 2m+3m=5m. Vector quantities are added or subtracted by laws of vector addition.
