Distinguish, differentiate, compare and explain what is the Difference between artificial and machine learning. Comparison and Differences.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are two very hot buzzwords right now, and often seem to be used interchangeably. They are not quite the same thing, but the perception that they are can sometimes lead to some confusion. Both terms crop up very frequently when the topic is Big Data, analytics, and the broader waves of technological change which are sweeping through our world.
Difference between Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
1. Artificial Intelligence is a technique which enables machines to mimic human behavior. Machine learning is a subset of AI technique which use statistical methods to enable machines to improve with experience.
2. Artificial Intelligence is the broader concept of machines being able to carry out tasks in a way that we would consider “smart”. And, Machine Learning is a current application of AI based around the idea that we should really just be able to give machines access to data and let them learn for themselves.
3 Designing and developing algorithms according to the behaviors based on empirical data are known as Machine Learning. While artificial intelligence in addition to machine learning, it also covers other aspects like knowledge representation, natural language processing, planning, robotics etc.
4. The term artificial intelligence was first coined in the year 1956, but AI has become more popular these days why? Well, it’s because of the tremendous increase in data volumes, advanced algorithms, and improvements in computing power and storage. Machine Learning came into existence in the late 80’s and early 90’s.
