Corked App – MVP Development Scope

Overview

Corked is a social wine logging and discovery app for casual drinkers and wine lovers. This MVP version will launch with a core set of features that let users log and rate wines, connect with friends, and earn fun badges (called Corks.) The long-term vision includes advanced marketplace tools, winery integrations, and gamified social experiences — so a successful MVP build can lead to continued feature development and long-term collaboration.

Account Access + Onboarding

Sign Up / Log In / Forgot Password
- Standard email + password fields
- OAuth (Google, Apple) support
- Forgot password email flow
- All users start with a 14-day free trial of VIP features
Splash + Tutorial Flow
(4 onboarding screens)
- Swipe-through static tutorial screens
- Final screen leads into Sipback preference setup
Sipback Preferences
- Users choose vibe categories for auto-comments
- Multi-select chips with visual selection states
- Preferences saved to user profile

Core Wine Features

Wine Logging
- Search or scan wine (camera or text input)
- Slider to rate wine (0–5 grapes, 0.25 increments)
- Toggle icons for wine style, taste, and occasion
- Upload photo or assign auto-label/placeholder
- Fun logging animation (cork pop → pour)
Wine Detail Page
- View wine name, type, rating, and user reviews
- Show:
  - “Your Rating” (if user has logged it)
  - “Friends’ Rating” (average + count)
  - “Community Rating” (global average)
- Add/remove from “Liked Wines” list via heart icon
Liked Wines
- View list of favorited wines
- Sort by rating, recent, wine type
- Heart animation when liked/unliked

Exploration Features

Wine Map
- Map with tappable winery pins (no user pins yet)
- Filter by wine type (e.g., Cabernet, Riesling, etc.)
- Winery data sourced from in-app listings (not user-generated)

Social Features

Feed & Friends
- See recent logs from friends
- Tap to like, react (5 custom reactions), or send Sipbacks (auto-comments)
- Only 1 reaction per log (can replace)
Corked Reactions
- Animated reaction types:
  - Cheers!
  - Spilled It
  - Slay Corked
  - Corked & Unhinged
  - Emotional Support Wine
Notifications
- Triggered by:
  - Likes, reactions, Sipbacks
  - Corks earned
  - Trial or membership updates
- Grouped by category with unread states styled

Badges (Corks) & Gamification

Cork (Badge) System
- Wine-type Corks (e.g., Cab King, Rosé Rockstar)
- Tiered system: Corkboard → Bronze → Silver → Gold → Platinum
- Pop-up animation when Cork is unlocked

Profile & Membership

User Profile
- Show total wines logged, favorite varietal, and Corks earned
- View membership status (VIP Trial, Free, or Paid)
Account Settings
- Edit profile, toggle notifications
- Upgrade membership (link to app store billing)
- Auto-downgrade to Free after trial
