Differences between Surface Water and Ground Water

3	It can be directly used for irrigation.	In most of the cases it is needed to be pumped out.
4	Surface water is present in the form of large water bodies on earth surface.	Ground water is present due to slow percolation of surface water to the ground.
5	It gets recharged by the rain water directly.	It is recharged indirectly by either rain water harvesting or by absorbed surface water.
