Difference between Moist and Dry Deciduous Forests

1. Moist Deciduous Forests are found in areas with annual rainfall between 100 and 200 cm. Dry Deciduous Forests are found in areas with annual rainfall between 70 and 100 cm.

2. In Moist Deciduous Forests, Teak, bamboo, sal, shisham, sandalwood, khair, kusum, arju n and mulberry trees are found. In Dry Deciduous Forests, Teak, sal, neem and peepal trees are found.

3. Not many of the Moist Deciduous Forests have been cleared. Large areas have been cleared for cultivation and grazing of Dry Deciduous Forests.

4. Moist Deciduous Forests cover about 34% of Indias forested area. Dry Deciduous Forests cover about30% of Indias forested area.
