Difference between East and West Flowing Rivers
1. East Flowing Rivers originate from the Western Ghats and flow eastwards. West Flowing Rivers originate in central India and flow westwards.
2. East Flowing Rivers flow into the Bay of Bengal. West Flowing Rivers flow into the Arabian Sea.
3. East Flowing Rivers form deltas at their mouths. West Flowing Rivers form estuaries at their mouths.
4. East Flowing Rivers carry larger amount of water. West Flowing Rivers carry a lesser amount of water.
5. Examples are East Flowing Rivers are Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna and kaveri. Examples of West Flowing Rivers are : Narmada and Tapi.
